August 31, 1910 - September 8, 1999
Alfred H. Celia, 89, of 1202 Tremont Ave., Bristol, TN, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in New Haven, CT, a son of the late Lucia Setola Celia and Gaetano Celia, and had lived in Bristol since 1930. He was a graduate of King College and owner of Big Al's Package Store. He was a former insurance adjuster and former owner of Russo's Tailor Shop. He was a life member of Bristol Elks Lodge 232 for 41 years and served as exalted ruler in 1969-70. He served as district deputy grand exalted ruler in 1973-74 and as state president of the Tennessee Elks Association in 1979-80. He was past president of the Fraternal Veterans Council of Bristol and a member of the Moose Lodge. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Blake (Ann C.) Barnes of Bristol TN; a granddaughter, Deborah B. Dishman of Bristol VA; a grandson, Stephen B. Barnes IV of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery by Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry Hall will officiate.
