Barbara Jean Adams VanHoy, age 85, of Bristol, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born March 11, 1928 in Pardee, VA, a daughter of the late Nancy Adams Wiles. Mrs. VanHoy was a resident of the Bristol area for the past sixty years. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Tate VanHoy, a son, Clifton Tate VanHoy, twin sister, Pauline Rutledge, and brothers, John Adams and Harold Adams.
She is survived by:
Daughters: Norma "Sis" Hall and husband Bill, Debbie Cox and husband B.J.
Sons: William "Billy" VanHoy and wife Ann and Worley "Ricky" VanHoy and wife Caroline.
Daughter-in-law: Lana VanHoy.
Nine Grandchildren.
Twenty Great-Grandchildren.
Six Great-Great Grandchildren.
Brother and Sisters-in-law: George and Peggy VanHoy, Sally VanHoy.
Several Nieces and Nephews.
The funeral services for Mrs. VanHoy will be held 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Carrico officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 pm prior to the service. Entombment will be held 2:00 pm Friday in the Glenwood Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. VanHoy's Grandsons. Friends may visit anytime at the home of Mrs. VanHoy's daughter, Debbie Cox 106 Winding Way, Bristol, VA 24201. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Northeast Tennessee Regional Office at 207 N. Boone St., Ste 1500 Johnson City, TN 37604.
