April 21, 1929 - November 10, 2012
Herman E. Foster, age 83, of Bristol, TN passed away on November 10, 2012 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Sullivan County a son to the late W.F. and Lena Glover Foster. Mr. Foster retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked for 42 years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Herman was a lifelong member of South Bristol United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities through the years. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings – W.M. Foster, Jr., John Foster, Geneva McIlwain, and Hazel Foster
Survivors include: Wife of 61 years – Betty Jane Foster
Children – Debbie Sue Darnell and husband Steve, Lesa Julane Maines and husband Doug, Mark Foster and wife Karen
Sister - Ellogene Roberts and husband Bob
Grandchildren – Amanda Darnell White and husband Chris, Morgan Darnell, Daniel and Will Morris, Jonathan and Brennan Foster, Summer Price and husband Michael, Sarah Harris and husband Anthony, Douglas and Dalton Maines
Five Great Grandchildren
Special Cousin – Pearl Ladd
Several Nieces and Nephews
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 8 pm in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Ledger officiating. Committal service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the Glenwood Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of South Bristol UMC and all of his many friends. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-7:45 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may sent to the South Bristol United Methodist Church at 1809 Southside Ave, Bristol, TN. Online condolences may be registered at www.Weaverfuneralhome.net.
Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
