MANUEL, RONALD W. "RONNIE" BLUFF CITY -- Ronald W. "Ronnie" Manuel, 45, of 901 Vickers Road went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and the son of the late Oscar L. Manuel Sr. and Mildred L. Frye Manuel.

He was a 1974 graduate of East High School, former employee of SmithKline Beecham and a member of Victory Baptist Church. He also coached in his church softball league and on several basketball and softball teams. He worked at the Arby's Classic for 17 years and was an avid golfer. He was also a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother and friend and had a special God-given talent to touch many hearts and lives through his love for the Lord. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Malone.

Survivors include: wife, Brenda Manuel of Knoxville; stepson, Bryan Moore of Bluff City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Eugene Malone of Elizabethton, Elizabeth Shortt of Bristol and Donna and Mark Favor of Bristol; brothers and sisters-in-law, Oscar L. Manuel Jr. and Virginia Manuel of Powell, Tenn., and Samuel and Teresa Manuel of Bristol; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Austin Cook, Dr. Howard Robinson, Pastor Joel Cook and Pastor Dennis Burnette officiating. The committal will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Scott, Ronnie Sneed, Dale Cook, Don Turner, Mike Wright, Gary Vance, Mark Favor and Steve Hardin. Honorary pallbearers will be special nieces and nephews.

A procession of family and friends will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5:45 p.m. Sunday at the church. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. BRISTOL HERALD COURIER FEB. 3, 2002
