Obituary for William Haynes Jenkins
William (Bill) Haynes Jenkins, age 73, of Bluff City, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Bristol Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Bluff City he was the son of the late Clarence and Annie B. Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mary Jenkins and Annie B. Jenkins and a daughter, Kimberly Anderson. He was of the Baptist Faith and a veteran of the US Air Force. Bill was retired from Mapes Piano String Company where he had worked for thirty-four years. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Jenkins of the home; four daughters, Connie Morrell and husband Richard, Julie Jenkins, Heather Sharp and husband Sammy, all of Bluff City and Amanda Sprinkle and husband Martin of Bristol; three sisters, Ann Stigall of Bristol, Shirley Long and husband Leonard of Bluff City and Alice Siegfried and husband Ron of Piney Flats; seven grandchildren, Jason and Tyler Morrell, Ashley Peer and husband Wes, Emily Richards, Erin and Eli Sharp and Miranda Sprinkle. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with Pastor Scott Watson and Rev. Eric Nixon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:45 P.M. prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. The graveside and interment will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 28th at Sunrise Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Leonard Long, Daryl Richards, Bearl Jenkins, Russell Tillison, Johnny Webb and Larry Snapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Owens and John Buchanan. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors at Blue Ridge Medical Specialists, Dr. Steve Hanor and nurse Lori and the staff of the IMU floor at Bristol Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Hospital. P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
