BLUFF CITY ? Jensey L. Lyon, age 68, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at her home in Bluff City following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Jensey was born in Bluff City and was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Harkleroad. She spent most of her life in the Bluff City/Piney Flats area and was a graduate of Bluff City High School Class of 1957. She retired as secretary from Glaxo-SmithCline. Mrs. Lyon was a member of the Piney Flats United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Herman Harkleroad and two sisters: Helen Harkleroad and Wilma Jean Weaver.

Survivors include her husband, Beryl T. Lyon of the home, one son: John (Tom) Lyon, Bluff City, two sisters: Mary Cross, Piney Flats, Agnes Reed, Johnson City, three brothers and sisters-in-law: Lyle and Dreama Harkleroad, Bluff City, Glen and Jan Harkleroad, Bandon, OR, Sidney and Aleada Harkleroad, Marion, NC, one grandson: Earl T. Lyon, Johnson City, two great-grandchildren: Samme and Andy, Piney Flats. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, including special friends Harvey and Della Zimmerman, Durham, NC also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Lyon will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Sunday, March 23, 2008, in the Bluff City Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Houston and Rev. Laura Rasor officiating.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2008, in Sunrise Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55A.M. on Monday.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Bennett Cowan, Kathy Sharp, SNP, Tracy Bowman, RN and staff of Blueridge Medical Specialists, Dr. John Fincher and staff of the Niswonger Cancer Center and staff of the Wellmont Hospice House.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wellmont Hospice House through the Wellmont Foundation, Bristol, TN or to the ASPCA (please go online for instructions).
