"Butchy Boy"

George William “Butch” Dye, 65, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2015.  He was a native of Signal Mountain and lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area.  Butch was of the Baptist faith.  He was employed with Big Horn Saddle Company and B & F Auto for many years.  

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Madelyn and Willis Dye, Jr.; daughters, Marjorie and Karel Harvey and great grandchildren, Iyla Tant, Stacy Dye and Kasey Dye.  

Survivors include his wife, Troyce Dye; sons, George Dye, II (Amy), Stacy Dye (Dana), Rodney Tant, II (Salem) and Troy Tant (Brittney); daughters, Angela Tant, Georgia Mabe, Cletta Sanders and Aundrea Dye (Donnie); brothers, Jimmy Dye, Timothy Dye (Anita), Thomas Dye, Carl Dye, Robert Dye (Sandra) and Wayne Dye (Betty); sisters, Jane Dye, Marjorie Dye, Debra Goins and Karen Wilkey (Kenny); grandchildren, Danielle Umbreit (Robbie), Jordan Mabe, Jackie Mabe, Brelea Mabe, Austin Dye, Justin Dye, Chris Dye, Tristian Dye, Nicota Barker, Cassady Dye, Olivia Dye and Robert Dye (Sahara); great grandchildren, Elijha Umbreit, Zayden Tant and Madalynn Tant and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Sawyer Cemetery.  Visitation is Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
