Jesse Richard Roberson, 75, died on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Sargent, Ky., on Oct. 18, 1939, to the late James T. and Vesta E. Roberson.
Mr. Roberson was an avid biker and runner, competing in and winning several local biking and running events. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois R. Holbrook.
Survivors include his daughters, Stacey A. (Patrick) Burke of Signal Mountain, Melanie A. (Rick) White of Hixson; grandsons, Austin and Parker Kiey, Tyler and Micah Westmoreland; brothers, Ray (Georgette) Roberson of Bermuda, Harold (Brenda) Roberson of Flat Top Mountain; sisters, Norma (Aaron) Bice of Hixson, Dorothy (the late Winston) Barber, Anne (the late Bill) Ables, all of Soddy Daisy. Jesse is also survived by his best friend and beloved companion, Joy Chapman, who stood by him faithfully for over 17 years.
A private graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at Sawyer Cemetery, Signal Mountain with Reverend Joe Jacks officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
