Michael Terrell Gibbs, Jr., 51, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

He was born in the Summit Community of Chattanooga, Tn., on Jan. 7, 1971. He was the eldest child of Michael Gibbs and Carolyn McPherson. Michael, affectionately known by his family and friends as "Hollywood", received his education through the Chattanooga School System and graduated from Ooltewah High School. After graduation, Michael spent many years working with his hands in construction and carpentry. Michael had a heart like a lion and loved life itself. He was a natural born comedian, hence the name "Hollywood". He could bring laughter into any situation.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Deonna Gibbs; grandparents, George and Dorothy McPherson, William and Betty Gibbs; nephews, Trin Forston and Jerrell Price.

Survivors include his loving parents, Carolyn Collier, Michael Gibbs, Sr., and Sadell Gibbs; three sisters, Patreise Gibbs, Myra Collier, and Teresa Lyle; two nieces, Kaliyah Collier and Trinity Hines; one nephew, Xavier Hines; and one great-nephew, Malachi Price.

A heartfelt, special thanks to his cousin, Alvin Brooks for his unwavering dedication; a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; special friend, Albert Woodard and many other relatives and friends. Michael will lie-in-state on Tuesday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Keith Jones, Sr. as the eulogist.

Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
