Joshua Blake Allen, 17, of Chattanooga died on Thursday, September 17, 2009.
Blake was born in Chattanooga on October 30, 1991. He was a senior at Ooltewah High School where he was very active in the Drama Club and the Improv Team.
He was a member of River of Life Church. Blake loved to bring joy, laughter to all people, and he was a loyal, dedicated family person. He was a great big brother.
Blake was preceded in death by his mother, Tira Chapree Nation.
Blake is survived by his loving father, Lee Robert Allen; two brothers, Taylor Lee Allen and Noah Robert Allen; sister, Courtney Brooke Allen; paternal grandparents, Don and Sandra Allen, maternal grandparents, Jim and Brenda Nation, Marcia Nation; Jan Oliver, two uncles, Donnie Allen and Frankie Nation; nephew, Tyree Allen, and a multitude of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. at Ridgedale Baptist Church on Hickory Valley Road, (706 891-2120) with Pastor Alan Crider officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Donnie Allen, Frankie Nation, Gerald Carter, Rick Layne, Matthew Hill, and Nicky Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Jackson and the Ooltewah High School Improv team and alumni.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 4-8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home on East Brainerd Road. Interment will be in the Varnell Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu flowers, contributions be made to the River of Life Church in memory of Blake Allen to offset expenses.
