Lawrence “Shorty” McDaniel, 73, of Birchwood, TN passed away on November 25, 2020 at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1947 to the late Clyde and Ruby “Annie” McDaniel. He was of the Baptist faith and a member at Gamble Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and working puzzles. He was employed at Lane Steel Fabricators for 43 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters; Gail McDaniel, Kathy Williams, and Rebecca McDaniel, and one son-in-law; Mitchell Martin.
Lawrence leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Alice Herron McDaniel; three daughters, Jennifer Willoughby (Charlie), Kim Martin, and Gail West (Sach); three siblings, Shirley McDaniel, John S. McDaniel, and Bill McDaniel; five grandchildren, Charles Willoughby, Hayley Willoughby, Nick Martin, Erikka West, and James West, Jr.; two great-grandchildren Levi Forester and Kayelee Jordan; and several other special grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other extended family members.
The family will be receiving friends at Gamble Road Baptist Church located at 11703 Dolly Pond Rd, Birchwood, TN 37308 on Sunday from 11:00AM to 2:30PM with the Celebration of Life service following at 2:30PM. Burial will follow at Holder Cemetery.
