Walter F. Banther, age 69, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2006 at the family residence. He was a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the City of Chattanooga as a truck driver for 25 years.
Mr. Banther was the son of the late Jess and Sara Pauline Ford Banther and was also preceded in death by a son, Steve Banther, a daughter, Laura Banther and his stepfather, Smitty Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Banther of Birchwood; two children and spouses: Patricia Pauline Campbell and Mac Campbell of Chattanooga and Walter F. Banther, Jr. and Bridgette Banther of Birchwood; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother; several nieces and nephews also survive.
