Franklin Au"Gus"Tus Hurd, 79, of Dayton, died at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004.
He lived in Dayton for 15 years and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Scates Hurd; three children, James Edward Hurd, Mary Ruth Hurd and Shirley Ann Hurd; parents, Frank and Martha Ann "Mattie" Hurd.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Louise McAllister, Dayton; Jesse Franklin Hurd, Sand Mountain, Trenton, Ga.; Roy Lee Hurd, Soddy-Daisy; two sisters, Sylvia and Billie Smith; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in Colemon Cemetery in Bakewell.
Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home Inc. in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
