Samuel Swayne, 70, of Hixson, died on Saturday, April 10, 2006, in a local hospital.
He was born in Idaho and was an attorney for 35 years and a bankruptcy trustee for 25 years there. He served in the National Guard for 14 years. He attended Word of Life Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Swayne.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Cecile Swayne, of Hixson; sons, Lt. Col. Donnie Swayne, of Harrisonburg, VA, Steven Swayne, of Red Bank, and Darin Swayne, of Los Angeles; daughters, Carlene Rhodes, of Portland, OR, and Lourana Swayne, of Portland; brothers, James Swayne, of Republic, WA, and Kenny Mark Swayne, of Orofino, ID; and eight grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at East Soddy Community Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Alex officiating.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date at the Word of Life Church on Cassandra Smith Road.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy.
