Obit:
J.D. Hawkins, 66, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, in a local hospital.
He attended Melville Baptist Church and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Neighbors, and sister, Shirley Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hawkins; son, John D. Hawkins; daughters, Cindy Schmeichel, Elaine Hawkins Romo, Shirley Hawkins and Tracy Cunningham; brother, Jack Hawkins; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Christopher Schmeichel officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Monday at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, phone (423) 332-1515.
