Virginia Louise Hicks, 76, of Flintstone, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 16, 2014.

She was born in Scottsboro, Alabama to the late William "Bill" & Flora Edmonds but has lived in the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas for most of her life. She was previously employed with Hartford Carpet Company for many years and was of the Christian faith. She loved working word search puzzles, but her passion and drive in life was living and loving on her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hicks; sons, Keith & Chris Kirby; daughter, Teresa Harris; granddaughter, Shelly Sims and two brothers.

Survivors include her sister & brother-in-law, Lola & (Harold) Waldron of Flintstone, GA; three grandchildren, Jerry Brown, Miranda Pedigo and Tammy Langston; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Margaret Hale.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the East Ridge Church of the Nazarene, 5821 Ringgold Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412 with Rev. Charles Knight officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home and burial will be private.
