Ray Hatfield
November 17, 1942 ~ October 10, 2020 (age 77)
Ray Gene Hatfield, 77, of Soddy Daisy, passed away October 10, 2020 surrounded by his immediate family. Ray had been struggling for some time with various health issues but he was a strong fighter until the end. He loved his family deeply and was fighting for them. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be missed.
He was of the Church of God Faith. Ray served as a United States Army Ranger during the Vietnam War and was a former POW during his tour. He was an outdoorsman, he loved to work in his garden and was an avid Nascar fan. Ray retired from Pro Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hillard and Lillie Jane Hatfield; and siblings, Floyd Hatfield, J.W. Hatfield, Colleen Harris, Pauline Woodward and Norris Hatfield.
Ray was survived by his loving wife of fifty three years, Alberta Hatfield; daughters, Patty (Ricky) Miller, Robin (Robert) Bell; his grandson whom he was the best papaw in the world to, Logan Bell; brother, David Hatfield; sisters, Nora Frizzell, Nanny Johnson; a brother-in-law and several sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 12, 2020. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Millsaps Cemetery. His family is requiring everyone that attends any of the above to please wear a mask.
