*Obituary:
Melvin Ray Creek, 68, lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He retired from General Motors with 14 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Edward and Dorothy B. Creek; and brother, James Creek.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte C. Creek; daughters, Starlia Boone and Dee Dee Campbell; sons, Michael Creek and Torry Creek; stepchildren, Debra Sue Herrera, David Henderson and Bobby Henderson; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel. Interment will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Saturday and after 11 a.m. on Sunday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, 601 Ashland Terrace.
