Harold K. Linkous, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 9, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born on April 8, 1938, Harold was an avid painter who loved gospel music, nature and all things creative. He was an expert at crossword puzzles and greatly enjoyed his photography. Known as “Popcorn” by his coworkers, Harold had a successful career at Eastman Chemical Company until his retirement in 1998 and he enjoyed a ten-year career at Hobby Lobby until 2013. He also touched many lives as a Scout Leader from 1986-1995.
Harold was a member Wheeler United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lena Linkous and his father-in-law, James Tatum. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron & Mandy Linkous; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Stephanie Linkous; four grandchildren; Madison, Dakota, Brooklyn and Jaxson; brother, Ronald Linkous and Family; mother-in-law, Eugenia Tatum; brother-in-law, Jim Tatum; and sister-in-law, Ruby Perkins and husband Claude.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, July 11, 2015, from 3:00-5:00 pm, at East Tennessee Funeral Home, 2630 Hwy 75, Blountville, TN. Funeral services will begin at 5:00pm with Pastor JW Depew officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. -
