Edward Sellers, Jr., born December 5, 1944 died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Baptist Memphis Hospital. Mr. Sellers is survived by his wife Elaine, three children; Cortney Sellers, Drew Sellers and Amber Sellers. He also leaves behind a brother, John Sellers of Leapwood, TN and a nephew, Keith Sellers and his family of Olive Branch, MS. Edward was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps retiring with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. His duties allowed him to travel around the country training Marines in weaponry, protecting our country. He served in Desert Storm Operation Freedom. He earned many certificates, bars and medals throughout his military career. He grew up in Memphis where he found a love for sports before leaving home to go to Freed Hardeman College where he first met his wife. They moved to Brighton in 1977 and became a known fixture for people you could call if you needed a hand. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 29 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28 at the funeral home.
