Larry Knight, 73, of Burlison, passed away on Saturday, June 4. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 6 at the funeral home. Mr. Knight was a self employed carpenter for 20 years, worked at Osmose for 17 years, was a former councilman for the City of Burlison, was the former mayor of the City of Burlison, drove race cars at Riverside Motor Speedway from 1969 - 1986 and was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine Jackson Knight; two sons, Robert Alan (Jimmie-Kaye) Knight and Steven Dewayne Knight, both of Burlison; three brothers, Jerry Dale (Margo) Knight of Covington, Keith (Nancy) Knight of Munford; and Tim Knight of Burlison; one sister, Livia Gale Knight of Memphis; five grandchildren, Brandi (Drew) Laxton and Haeli Knight, both of Covington, Toni Knight, Dillon (Mary Jane) Knight and Cody Knight, all of Burlison and two great grandchildren, Sawyer Laxton and Porter Laxton. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Lavelle Knight two brothers, Barry Wayne Knight and Donald Lee Knight and one sister, Marilyn Delaine Knight.
