John B. Mayfield, Jr., 73, of Covington, passed away at his home. Services for Mr. Mayfield will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington. He was a heavy equipment operator for Frank Climer and also a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Mayfield leaves his wife, Martha S. Mayfield, a daughter, Cathy Mayfield; a son, Steve Mayfield both of Covington; two sisters, JoAn Mayfield and June Austill, both of Covington; four brothers, Jerry Mayfield of Florida, Wayne Mayfield, Bobby Mayfield and Dale Mayfield, all of Covington; and one grandchild.
