Richard Lee Huffman, Sr., 84, of Burlison, passed away on Wednesday, October 8 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 10 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Huffman was a member of the Gilt Edge
Church of Christ, a retired farmer, a graduate of Byars Hall High School, a charter member of the Gilt Edge Fire Dept. and an Army veteran of the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart and was honorable discharged as a Corporal. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Talley Huffman; two sons, Richard L. “Rick” Huffman, Jr. (Linda) and DeWayne Huffman (Connie); four grandchildren, Christie Huffman Walker (John Paul), Brian Huffman, Ricky Huffman and Adam Huffman; two great grandchildren, Tyler Walker and Sarah Beth Walker and one brother, Binford Huffman. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. E. “Dutes” and Mazie Tanner Huffman; granddaughter, Callie Huffman; two sisters, Marilyn Huffman Hathcock and Jeanette Huffman and one brother, Jerry Huffma
