Jerry Wayne ""Smiley"" Triplett, 40, former commerical construction worker for Crawford, Smith and Sharp, died Saturday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Covington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. He was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Covington. Mr. Triplett, the husband of Melinda Ann Perry Triplett, also leaves eight daughters, Brandy Triplett, Amber Triplett, and Brittany Triplett, all of White Plains, KY, Madison Triplett of Drummonds, Paula McGrath, Peggy McGrath, Courtney Hazelrig and Crystel Dowdel, all of Brighton; two sons, Joseph Triplett of Cleveland, TN, and Jonathan McGrath of Covington, his father, Marty Triplett of Mississippi, his mother and step-father, Linda and Larry Davenport of Millington, one sister, Sandra Boyd of Drummonds; two step-sisters, Lorena Walker and Kelly Davenport, both of Memphis; one brother, Lee Triplett of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and five grandchildren. The family request any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
