John Herron, 71, of Brighton, passed away on Thursday, May 12. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Herron was a retired computer programmer for the Dept. of the Navy and a member of the Community Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran having flown F-4 Phantoms and B-52 Bombers during the Vietnam War. He is survived by one sister, Sharon Herron of Munford and two brothers, Robert Herron of Memphis and Ronnie Herron of Brighton.
