January 23, 1934 - July 26, 2010
Eugene Cox, 76, of Burlison, passed away on Monday, July 26. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, July 30 at the funeral home. Mr. Cox was an employee of Chromasco for 27 years, Rayovac for 6 years, the West Side Flea Market for 13 years, and the Little Hatchie Café for 4 years. He was an avid vegetable gardener and coached the Big Star Little League baseball team for 15 years. He is survived by his wife and faithful caregiver of 57 years, Ruby Marie Daniels Cox; one daughter, Cindy (Benny) Yearwood of Burlison; two sons, Tommy (Tonja Reynolds) Cox and Timmy Cox, both of Covington; one sister, Peggy Sires of Shreveport, LA; one brother, James "Buddy" Cox of Silerton, TN; seven grandchildren, Daniel Price, Todd Cox, Chad Cox, Amanda Incillo, Tyler Cox, Gene Robert Yearwood and Walker Yearwood and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Leeanna Anderson.
