*ESLICK FAMILY OVERVIEW

Eslick Family Cemetery
Lincoln County,
Tennessee

The Eslick Family Cemetery is located on top of a hill at the back of the original property settled by the Eslick family in 1812 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. The Cemetery suffers extensive damage and is very overgrown due to being over 200 years old. The Cemetery has been abandoned for several years. This property was in the Eslick family from 1812 to 1954 and the Cemetery has not been cared for since the Eslick family sold the property. Local historians say the stones were destroyed by vandalism, grazing cattle and falling trees. Many of the stones were destroyed from a tractor being driven through the cemetery. Countless Eslick graves are unmarked, many of the graves are marked only with a field stone and many of the stones are long gone and lost to time. Some of these unmarked burials are taken from death certificates and Eslick family Bibles.
