Brion Christopher “Fricker” Burress, age 20 of Bristol, Va. went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in the Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by his family, friends, church family, and pastors after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. He was born on October 4, 1985 in Johnson City, Tn., and lived his life in the Bristol area. He was a graduate of Virginia High School Class of 2005, and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tn. He is preceded in death by grandfather-Stanley Elliott Overcast Sr. He is survived by:

Parents: Brion and Debbie Burress

Sisters: April Wood and husband Kevin; Nichole Owens and husband Freddy; Melissa Burress and fiancé Ryan Saunders

Grandparents: Jeanette Overcast; Kelly and Ona Burress

Nephew and Niece: Walker and Olivia Wood

Aunts and Uncles - Tony and Elizabeth Burnette, Ramesh and Lisa Naidu, Junior and Martha Powell of Shelbyville, TN and Gary and Diane Overcast of Shelbyville, TN.

Special Great Uncle and Aunt - Jack and Edith Prater of Bristol, TN

A Celebration Service of his life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2006 in the Mountain View Baptist Church, 4005 Bristol Hwy. Johnson City, Tn. 37601 with Rev. Brian Hollaway and Rev. Sherrel Nave officiating. The entombment will follow in the Glenwood Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Thursday and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home, 630 Locust St. Bristol, TN. 37620. Pallbearers will be Randy Flinchem, Chris Boysen, Freddy Owens, Kevin Wood, Ryan Saunders and Tony Burnette. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Victor Santana, Dr. David Kalwinsky, Dr. Vlad Radulescu, All of the St. Judes Clinic Nurses, Dr. Casey Moss, Dr. Apryl Hall, All of the Nurses on the Pediatric Floor of Johnson City Medical Center, Dr. Gerry Boccarossa, and Dr. Todd Aiken. Memorial contributions may be made the St. Judes Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105, attention: Memorial Department.
