Martha Jo May, 72, of Soddy-Daisy, entered into rest on November 29, 2017 after a long-fought battle with cancer.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Perkey; step-father, James “Pete” Perkey; brother, Gene Payne; sister, Sandra Massengale and step-son, Donie May.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Dewey May; step-son, Wayne (Darlene) May of St. Petersburg, Florida; step-daughters, Danette (Gary) Miller and Debbie May of Soddy-Daisy; brothers, Randy (Kathy) Payne, Kenny (Jennie) Payne and Mike Payne all of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Sheila (Dave) Rievely of Sale Creek; several step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday, December 1, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother, Chase Harvey, Brother Tanner Harvey and Rev. Troy Simmons, who she referred to as her “Ray of Sunshine” as he visited and prayed with her and her family, officiating. Burial will follow at Dividing Ridge Cemetery with Wayne May, Bret May, Jason Miller, Chuck Harvey, Chase Harvey and Tanner Harvey serving as pallbearers.
