Gary Steven McGee of Washington, formerly of Chattanooga, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1998, in a hospital there.
He was 49. He was a member of Bartlebaugh Baptist Church and was a 1967 graduate of Tyner High School.
He was an avid writer, artist and master gardener.
He was also involved with student teaching in Washington and was a member of the local rescue squad.
Survivors include his father, Clark McGee and mother, Helen McGee, both of Chattanooga; five brothers, Michael McGee, Woodstock, Ga., mark, Chris, Jeff and Andy McGee, all of Chattanooga; one sister, Lyndia McGee, also of Chattanooga.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Millard Hooper and the Rev. C.E. Blevins officiating.
Burial will be in Bartlebaugh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
