Dennis Dean Teegarden, 70, of Burlison, passed away on Sunday, October 12. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Thursday. Dennis Dean Teegarden was born to Avis Caine, mother/homemaker and Garnet Teegarden, father/farmer on June 1, 1944 in Bracken Couinty,KY Dean loved the farm but set his sights on a medical career. He began his career as a medic in the Navy and through training, advanced to physician’s assistant. Dean served 22 years in the Navy and began a second career as a civilian physician’s assistant in Tennessee, Montana, Oklahoma and Texas. He found the work of serving medically remote communities rewarding as well as challenging. He survived by wife, Ruth Vaughan Teegarden, mother, Avis Caine Teegarden (Garnet) and sister, Avis Grigson (Gary). He also leaves two daughters, Tara Watkins and Cara Pace (Robby) and four grandchildren, Ginger and Camron, Kaleb and Braden Pace.
