Captain Raymond A. Isome, 58, 34 year veteran of the Covington Fire Department, died on Friday, March 29. He leaves his wife, Mary Lynn Patrick Isome, daughter, Jennifer Ray and her husband Don Ray of Covington, his sisters, Bea Horton, Barbara Carroll, both of Covington and Libby Hawkins of Paducah, KY and brother, Frankie Isome of Covington along with numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. They affectionately called him ?Ray Ray?. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Velma Isome and grandparents, Virgil and Elizabeth Broughton and Tom and Ida Isome and brother Tommy Isome. Ray was a member of the Brighton Church of Christ. Well respected in the community and most noted for his willingness to lend a helping hand, he never met a stranger. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, April 1 at the Covington Funeral Home with services to be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Covington Fire Department for all their love and support during Ray's illness and also wishes to thank the staff of Baptist Trinity Hospice House for the comforting care for Ray and his family during his time there.
