This marker is in the Oakwood Historic Cemetery
Victims of the 188 yellow fever epidemis are buried in theis cemetery. Of the 844 reported cases, it is known that thee were more than 200 deaths. Elsewhere in this cemetery is a marker to sergeant Mike McGrath, a member of the Howard Society and a hero of that epidemic.
