Henry C Sheid was the son of a Tennessee pioneer, among the first eight families in Coffee county. He became a Tennessee statesman. Later in his life he ranched in Texas beside his brother, William R Shead (variant spelling). On his retirement Henry settled east of Amarillo with many members of his extensive family.
Henry married Mary E Patton. Their children are: Selina Sybil Sheid 1850, Mary Clementine Sheid 1853, Nancy Cora Sheid 1856, Ella Carrie Sheid 1857, Tennessee Patton Sheid 1860, Jesse L Sheid 1863, William Thomas Sheid 1864, James H Sheid 1866 and Kittie W Sheid 1873.
