Murfreesboro resident and Warren County native Johnny David Campbell, 45, died April 28 in Murfreesboro after an extended illness.

A meat cutter with Frank's IGA and a member of the Baptist Church, he served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.

The son of John C. and Anna Lou Campbell of Altamont, he is survived by his wife, Frances Rutledge Campbell; sons, Mickey Lynn Campbell of Murfreesboro and Jimmy White of McMinnville; daughter, Trinia Campbell Mullican of McMinnville; stepdaughter, Janet Anderson of Beech Grove; stepson, James Davis of Flowerville, Mich.; grandchildren, Matthew Mullican and Anna White, both of McMinnville; sisters, Ethel Tidwell of Dayton, Kathy Griffith of Rock Island, Debbie George of Centertown, Darlene Pack and Melissa Cruise, both of Altamont; brothers, Bruce and Jason Campbell of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at High Funeral Home with Johnny Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Little Johnny Cemetery in Grundy County with military graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the David Campbell Fund.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
