Bessie Delaney Anderson Sproles, age 95, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005. She was the youngest of nine children born to the late James A. and Mary Etta Cheek Anderson. She was a housewife and a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. She was a chaplain of the Residents Association of Stant Hall Apartments and was a good friend to all of the residents there. She was the widow of John A. Sproles and was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters. She was survived by daughter, Jean Blevins and husband Keith; son, Ray Sproles and wife Mary Lou; grandchildren, Lisa Gentry and husband Allen, Lori Jeffcoat and husband Tommy, John Sproles and Kevin Blevins; great-grandchildren, Lucas Gentry, Savannah Bailey, Sydney Jeffcoat, Shelby Jeffcoat and twins, Beccah and Bailey Blevins. Entombment was in the Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel. Honorary pallbearers were G.W. Morrell, David Ryan, Carl Jackson and Eddie Kestner. (Weaver Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements; Obit in Bristol Herald Courier on November 11, 2005).
