Melver Joe Brown, 78, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Audis Carmack and Augusta Louise Lancaster Brown.

Joe was a graduate of Vanderbilt University Engineering School. He worked at Unisys and Raytheon for 36 years. He was very interested in computers and genealogy.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Dean Edwards Brown; daughter, Kimberly Noel Simonds and husband Scott; and grandson, Connor Joseph Blanton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. A private entombment for the family will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Green and all of his staff for the exceptionally good care given to Joe. They would also like to extend their thanks to friends and neighbors for all of their kindness and support during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Brown to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.
