Marion L. Malloy Cummins, 92, of Bluff City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010, at her home with her husband and son by her side. She was the youngest daughter of the late Alexander Malloy and Florence May Munnings Malloy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rhoda Hawtin and Phyllis Kirkpatrick.

Marion was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She was very proud of her parents, who were homesteaders in Western Canada, where they built and lived in a sod house. Early in life, having attended Bible College, Marion became an ordained Minister. She sewed parachutes and made aircraft parts for the World War II Canadian War effort.

Marion and her family moved to the United States in 1949. Choosing to become a naturalized citizen in 1956, she was a loyal and patriotic American. She retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield, of Western New York, in 1979. Marion moved to the Bristol area in 1985. She was a member of First Christian Church in Bristol, Virginia. Her passion in life was the Lord and His Church.

Survivors include her loving husband Marvin Cummins; son, Ross Malloy Cummins of Bluff City, TN; and nieces and nephews, Marjorie Zingle, Lloyd Hawtin, Ruth Jones, and Douglas Kirkpatrick.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 Sunday, July 11, 2010, at First Christian Church in Bristol, Virginia. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Herb Peak and Rev. John Thrasher officiating. The committal service and entombment will be held at 10:00 Monday, July 12, 2010, in the Heritage Chapel of Memories in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph Branson, Robert Shivar, Bill Harness, A.D. Jones, Ron Jessee, and Jim Bates.
