Andrew Jackson Leonard, 92, a retired chemical worker of Malden, died yesterday afternoon at his home after a short illness. A native of Bristol, Va., he came here about 37 years ago and worked for what was then the Charleston Chemical Co., now part of the duPont system. He would have been 93 on Jan. 3. Mr. Leonard was a member of the Bristol, Va. Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles T. Wright and Mrs. L. M. Jordan, both of Maiden; two sons, E. H. of Akron, Ohio, and Guy M. of Charleston; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Malden Methodist Church. Rev. James Spradlin and Rev. Luther Mays will officiate and burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at Bristol, Tenn.
The body will be returned to the Fidler and Frame Mortuary at Belle after the service, and will remain there overnight until Saturday morning.
