Orville Luther "John" Holden, 73, of Bristol Tennessee, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, in Wellmont Hospice House.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in Akard Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Kyle Barr and Dr. Bill Goforth. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Holden was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Bristol Tennessee Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hall Holden; a daughter, Mollie Elizabeth Holden of Bristol Tennessee; his stepfather, Glenn Tolliver of Bristol Tennessee. Also, Mr. Holden was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William Hall Jr. Other survivors include his father-in-law, William Emmett Hall of Bristol Tennessee.
