Cecil Hal Gorley, 85, of 866 Timber Ridge Road, died Monday, March 20, 2000, in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.

He was born in Sullivan County, a son of the late Sam and Jennie Hicks Gorley. He was retired from Frizzell Construction and spent most of his life as a farmer. He attended Bluff City Christian Church. Mr. Gorley was preceded in death by a son, Alton Bud Gorley; two brothers; and four sisters. Among survivors are sons-in-law Bruce Jones of Bluff City and Richard Vance.

Surviving are his wife, Delila Gorley; three daughters, Shelby Jones and Margaret Christine Gorley, both of Bluff City and Wendy Cleo Vance; two sisters, Viola Garr of Bristol TN and Hazel Malone of Blountville; three brothers, Albert Gorley, Ed Gorley and Willie Gorley, all of Bristol TN; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Bluff City Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Richard Kirkland will officiate. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sunrise Cemetery. Those who wish to attend the graveside services are requested to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Vance, Gerald Utsman, Bruce Jones, Scott Carrier and Richard Vance. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel or other times at the residence. Tetrick Funeral Home Bluff City Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Delila Lee Bishop Gorley, 81, of 866 Timber Ridge Road, Bluff City died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at her residence. A native of Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry Edward and Ida Mary Newton Bishop. She was a member of Bluff City Christian Church and a retired employee of Big Jack Manufacturing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil H. Gorley and one son, Alton (Bud) Gorley. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Bruce "Shelby" Jones, Margaret Christine Gorley and Mrs. Richard "Wendy Cleo" Vance, all of Bluff City; one Brother, Alton Norman Bishop of Bluff City; six grandchildren, Cindy Jones Carrier, David Gorley, Alton "Buddy" Gorley, Kelly Gorley, April Vance Tipton and Andrew Vance; two great grandchildren, Samantha Ann Maria Carrier and Tyree Joseph Tipton. Two nieces and one nephew also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Friday, December 29, 2006 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with Mr. Derek Cornett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday prior to the service in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home and other times at the residence. The graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Sunrise Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 A.M. Active pallbearers will be Scott Carrier, David Gorley, Andrew Vance, Travis Tipton, Alton "Buddy" Gorley, John Buzzell, Keith Kyker and Jimmy Goodson.
