Clarence "Fireball" Turner, age 66, of 949 Meadow View Road, Bristol, TN died Saturday, March 05, 2005 at his residence following a brief illness. A native of Benhams, VA, he was a son of the late C. Arnold and Leona Green Turner. He was retired from Holston Defense after working for over 19 years. Mr. Turner was a Veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an avid sports fan, and loved Nascar and billiards. Mr. Turner is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Andrew Turner, and one sister, Virginia Balthis. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Lee and Jessica Turner, Kingsport, Michael Wayne and Kathy Turner, Bristol, TN, two step-daughters and spouses, Betty and Sammy Ford, Elizabethton, Glenda and Fassell Iman, Bangladesh, India; three sisters and spouses, Mabel and Lewis Guinn, Johnson City, Marjorie Waldrop and Betty and Elby Stanley, both of Bluff City. Four grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 7, 2005 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, with Rev. Steve Guinn officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City, following the service. Military honors will be presented by the Tennessee National Guard. Active pallbearers will be Chad Stanley, Chris Turner, Tim Turner, Jeff Turner, Rob Turner, and Todd Blackwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Johnson,Elby Stanley, and Bill Becker. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home- Bluff City Chapel, or other times at the residence.
