Amy BENFIELD BRANCH

Patton-Simmons Cemetery
Carter County,
Tennessee

May 16, 1821 Burke County, North Carolina
April 4, 1910 Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee

An entry in the family Bible states that Amy's husband, Sidney BRANCH, died of wounds suffered near Knoxville, TN, on 22 June 1864. They are my great great grandparents.

A conflicting (and probably correct) record shows that Sidney was wounded 22 June 1864 at the battle of Kolb's Farm in GA, died 15 Jan 1865, and is buried at the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC, in plot 53 6434. Being wounded on 22 June 1864 is consistent between the two accounts.

Adolphus BENFIELD, Amy BENFIELD BRANCH and Matilda BENFIELD OWENS are siblings.
