Helen Petty Wright, our loving mother, 83, of Soddy-Daisy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Mrs. Wright was born to the late George Petty and Hester Morgan Reno Petty on October 4, 1926. She retired from Oster Manufacturing and was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Wright; brothers, Carl, Walter and Tom Reno and Montegue Petty; sister, Lucille Hodge. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Jim) Varner; sons, George (Patty) Wright; Don (Gaila) Wright; Ron (Linda) Wright; grandsons, Wade Wright, Travis (Heather) Wright and Casey (Cindy) Varner; great-grandchildren, Eli and Brody Wright, Cameron and Caylee Varner; beloved brother, Grover Petty and sister, Louise Greene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2009 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dana Gravett officiating. Interment will follow in Coleman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00'"8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation Dr. Frederick Gould, Evelyn Nethery, and Ginger Swallows and to her caregivers, Lois Jones and Nancy Marquez. Homer L. Wright, 81, of Soddy Daisy, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006 at his residence. He had lived in Soddy Daisy for 31 years and attended Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church. He was known for his skills as a furniture refinisher working for The Furniture Clinic and later self-employed. He was a talented bass singer and a member of The Southland Quartet. He thought of his wife’s children and grandchildren as his own. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Wright and brother, Harold Wright. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Helen Petty Wright; step children, Darlene (Jim) Varner, Ronnie (Linda) Wright, Donnie (Gaila) Wright, George (Patty) Wright; step grandchildren, Wade Wright, Travis (Heather) Wright, Casey (Cindy) Varner; step great grandchildren, Eli Wright, Cameron Varner; special brother-in-law, Grover Petty; mother, Lassie Henderson Hyder, all of Soddy Daisy; half sisters, Imogene Martin, Sue Vonziebrecht, both of Chattanooga; half brother, Wallace Wright, Spring City and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
