Robert Guffey, Sr. departed from his earthly life and have been taken by a choir of angels to our heavenly home where he will be united with family and friends in union with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Robert was the first child born to Jessie Edward Guffey and Vida Mae Sanders. They were a family of eight children. Robert was born on June 6, 1939 in Guntherville, Alabama. Raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he attended school and received his education. He accepted Christ at a young age.

Robert worked at odd jobs until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. June 1956 until 1959. After being Honorable Discharge he moved to Los Angeles in 1962, where he gained employment and worked for forty years. He moved to Austin in 1998 and worked for ABC Pest Control Company for eight years until his health would not allow him to continue.

In 1962, Robert met and married Mary Josephine. This union produced one son.

Robert volunteered at the Agape Christian Ministries, he volunteered at the River Oak Elementary School for four years in a tutoring program until his health slowed him down. He received several awards for his service. Robert was a faithful member of the Sweet Home Baptist Church in Round Rock. He loved the Lord, his Pastor, and his Church.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his son Robert Jr. (Diane), and a granddaughter Cynthia Marie, a hosts of relatives and friends.
