Beloved Wife, Mother & Grandmother

Violet Rhea Wilkey Grant, 79, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. She was a Christian and a gospel singer/songwriter with the Harris Sisters and taught Sunday School. Violet was a teacher at Daisy Head Start and Bakewell Head Start. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Wilkey and Bruce Grant; son, Victor Wilkey; parents, Andy and Bertie Harris; brothers, Lonnie and Ronnie Harris and sisters, Gaynell Ward and Betty Meschon.
Survivors are her sons, Albert Wilkey (Donna) and Darvin Wilkey (Kim); daughters, Sandra Smith (Gerald) and Ernestine Perkey (Jerry); brothers, Donnie Harris and Sherman Harris; sisters, Vivian Hackler, Linda Ward, Anda Harris and Nata Poston; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Special thank you to her sitter Nekia and to Melissa and Rhonda with Hearth Hospice and to her special caregivers her granddaughters, Amanda and Tonya.
