NANCY FAY GRIFFIN, 81, died at Allen Morgan Nursing Home on December 8, 2010. She was born in Jackson, TN to John Luther Griffin and Pearl Cornelius Griffin. She grew up in Acton, TN and Tupelo, MS and later moved to Memphis where she graduated from Southside High School and Memphis State University. Miss Griffin was a member of First Baptist Church. she worked for the Social Security Administration for over 30 years until her retirement. She especially enjoyed her nephews, Charles and Will Griffin, and was known for her quick wit and curiosity. She was preceded in death by her brother, Neil Griffin; half brothers, John W. Griffin and Charles L. Griffin; and half sisters, Ethel Griffin Landers and Mae Griffin. She leaves her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Nichols Griffin; her nephews, Charles R. Griffin, William N. "Will" Griffin (Elise), John L. Griffin; and niece, Carolyn Griffin Keathley (Naymond). Also surviving are a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, December 10 from 12-1 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with services to follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Cordova Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to First Baptist Church of Memphis at Poplar and Parkway. Memorial Park Funeral Home, "Behind the stone wall"
