November 16, 1939 - July 4, 2014
Patrick Alan Jones, Sr., 74, of Brighton, passed away on Friday, July 4. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 6 at the funeral home. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber after 20 years of service and from Anderson Tully after 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ruby Jerden Jones; four daughters, Margie L. (Randy) Biffle of Memphis, Debby (Roger) Jackson of Knoxville, Jo (Mike) Chandler of Brighton and Pat (Jerry) Garey of Weir, MS; four sons, Patrick A. (Renee) Jones, Jr. of Marion, AR, Johnnie (Ginny) Hampton of Indianapolis, IN, Jerry (Jennifer) Hampton and Jimmy “Bo” (Becky) Hampton, both of Brighton; one sister, Joyce Pitman of San Diego, CA; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Irene Jones; two sisters, Judy Jones and Patsy Sappington and two brothers, Gene Jones and Richard Jones. He was a kind, loving husband and father that loved life and his beloved pugs.
