Ralph Leon Woods, 68, retired supervisor with Illinois Central Railroad, died Sunday, February 19, at Methodist Healthcare North in Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 11 a.m. at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was a member of the Shelby Forrest Baptist Church and attended Gateway Baptist Church in Atoka. Mr. Woods was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was a graduate of Dyersburg High School and the Draughon?s Business College. Mr. Woods, the husband of Charlotte June Lambert Woods, also leaves one daughter, Lisa Dawn (Steve) Bivens of Millington; three sisters, Jane Palmer, Katherine Porch and Anna Frances Kidd, all of Memphis; one brother, Allen Woods of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, Michael Brandon Geil of Millington, Megan Bivens of Millington, Bret Geil of San Antonio, TX, Matthew Bivens of Millington and Kelly Cushman of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lona Monroe and Myrtle Emily Bunn Woods and a brother, James Woods. The family request that any memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
