Steve Howard Ballard, Age 71, Steve was a retired Class A Mechanical Maintenance for Lucite International, died October 19, 2015 at his residence. The family will receive friends at a catered reception Thursday, October 22 from 5-8 p.m. Services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 23, both at the Munford Funeral Home, Munford Chapel. Interment will be in Randolph Cemetery. Mr. Ballard was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church, Scout Master of Boy Scouts of Ameriica Troop 66 for 8 years, proud member of his Union, US Navy Veteran serving as a Torpedomans Mate and Plank owner of USS Simon Lake. He loved to travel and loved his grandson. Mr. Ballard was preceded in death by his father, James Howard Ballard and one sister, Carol Cooper. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Layton Ballard; daughter, Cynthia Ballard Smith (Brandon); sons, James Ballard (Justin Steven); mother, Mary Ballard; sister, Willadean Ballard and grandson, Corbin Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
